My husband and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary in Lake Placid staying at the wonderful Mirror Lake Inn which had been recommended by friends who are very discerning international travelers. Though the cost was a bit more than planned, we chose one of the inn's 'Signature Suites' named the 'Adirondack Suite'.
The room looked exactly as was pictured on the inn's internet site, the service was impeccable- it was on par if not better than the Four Seasons which we have experienced on a few occassions.
We canoed Mirror Lake, enjoyed a maple sugar body scrub, shopped and lunched in town, hiked 'Heart Lake', rocked and read on our suite's private porch... the time flew by. For our hike we requested the inn to pack a gourmet picnic for us to stop and enjoy. The meal provided was incredible in its taste and variety; large shrimp cocktail, beef tenderloin with horseradish sauce, fresh fruit salad, wonderful cheeses and crackers, home made cookies!
We are forever spoiled and can't wait for our return. |
