Six months ago I gave birth to our beautiful son Aiden. He had a rough four months and was very colicky. Needless to say my husband and I didn’t get much sleep. I am a teacher and decided to stay home with my son, so I helped soothe a baby who cried day and night. Sleep was definitely and at times still is something of the past. My husband wanted to take me away for a few days to rest, relax and get some much-needed SLEEP!! We decided that we wanted to go away somewhere not too far from our home in Rochester. I mentioned to my husband, who loves the outdoors, that if I was to go away and leave our son that, I wanted to go away to somewhere fabulous. I told him if you can find me somewhere in New York that has an indoor and outdoor pool, beach, spa, and shopping I would be there. I thought this was close to impossible. However, he came home one night and said we are going away to Mirror Lake. I quickly said, “Is it your type of vacation or mine?” He responded, ”best of both!” Being skeptical I asked where we would be staying and he replied, “Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa.” Quickly I went and looked it up on the Internet. I was so impressed and couldn’t wait. He was correct not only could I relax and enjoy everything I wanted, but we could also hike, fish and canoe everything he enjoys. Once we arrived at the resort, my relaxing began and everything exceeded my expectations. Our room was beautiful and the view was breathtaking. The food was delicious at all of the restaurants and the chocolate chip cookies, addicting and scrumptious (I miss having my daily tea and cookies!!!)! In addition, I even got to do some shopping!! Even though I didn’t want to sleep because there was a lot to do and see, I did manage to get at least three nights of uninterrupted sleep. The canoeing and hiking was a lot of fun too! Mirror Lake is a gorgeous lake and the resort and spa is just as gorgeous. Now I am coercing my husband to bring me back when my son turns 1! Just another 6 months!!!
