First Anniversary - back home

My memory of Mirror Lake Inn is special in many ways. My husband surprised me with staying there for our first Anniversary. We live in Austin Texas, but I grew up in Rhinebeck, NY. My husband and I decided to go back to my home state for our one-year anniversary since I miss it so much and he hadn’t seen much past NYC. I had been to Lake Placid as a teenager and loved it, but had not been back since. He knew how much I loved it, so arranged for us to stay at the Mirror Lake Inn as a surprise for our anniversary. Honestly, we do not normally stay at such beautiful places, but this was a special night and The Mirror Lake Inn certainly made it even more special. I couldn't believe we were staying there when we drove up! Our room was gorgeous with a view of Lake Placid. We had champagne waiting for us when we entered the room with an anniversary card from the Inn. After a day of walking around the village, we hadn't decided where we were going to eat dinner that evening, so we did not make reservations at any restaurant. It ended up snowing that evening so we decided we wanted to eat at your restaurant. We didn't exactly have snow appropriate attire. :) It was already 7 PM and I know someone mentioned that we needed to make reservations in advance. I reluctantly called down to the front desk and to my surprise, they arranged a seating for us in an hour and once again wished us a happy anniversary. We ended up popping open the bottle of the champagne and walking to the warm cozy lobby. We sat there in the warm of the inn, drinking our champagne waiting for our reservation time. It was so perfect and romantic. The time had come for dinner and we still had champagne to drink. My husband asked if it would be okay to bring our glasses into the restaurant and your staff graciously said yes. They just made us feel so comfortable! The attached picture is in front of the fireplace taken by our waitress. I could not have asked for a better one-year anniversary. My husband definitely picked the right place. Lake Placid will always have special place in my heart for many reasons, but the Mirror Lake Inn made those memories even better. Thank you. I really hope to return to build more memories with my husband at your Inn in my home state.
