Our Christmas Gift

Our first visit to the lovely Mirror Lake Inn was brought on by my grief having lost my father in late september of 1995. The pervasive sadness I endured only intensified after his passing. Feeling lost and realizing the holidays were fast approaching,my husband and I decided to plan a trip to Lake Placid. We always wanted to stay at Mirror Lake Inn and felt "What are we waiting for"???

During that first visit, not only did my grief ease, but a holiday tradition began. We plan for and splurge on a trip as our gift to each other. The precious memories are cherished and numerous wrapped presents could not compare. Even our holiday decor reflects small touches of the Inns elaborate display. We always purchase ornaments each year , which we hurry home to hang on our tree! In recent years, we have succumbed to the lure of spa treatments. Already feeling pampered and spoiled, we could not believe the sense of well being it provides. I could go on and on, but suffice to say that when we eat our chocolate chip cookie as we near the northway, we are already thinking about our next December trip!
