It was early Dec, 2003. when my son-in-law called me and asked if I would ride with him on a friday to Lake Placid so he could pick up a christmas present for his wife. I said OK so the next Friday my wife and I hopped in his truck and off we went. A few hour later we arrived at Mirror Inn. I said I hoped you called ahead to make sure that they had the gift you were looking for. So in the Inn we went and climbed the stairs - turned left - and what a surprise I had. There popping out from the couch Were my 7 grandchildren and my 3 children with their spouses . It was a surprise 70th birthday party for me - a Weekend at the Mirror Inn . And what a weekend it was. We enjoyed the pool, the hot tub, and playing games with my grandchildren in the library. We enjoyed touring the Village, shopping, and skating on the olympic rink. The Rooms were wonderful, the meals were excellent, and the hospitality of the Inn personnel was terrific. It was the best 70th birthday party I ever had!
