| Honeymoon in Lake Placid By: Janet and Mike J.

We were married on June 12, 1954. Mike's sister told us about the Mirror Lake Inn, and we decided to take her advice.
We had our own room with a double bed and bathroom . We were introduced to the "American" plan, and were pleased to have all of our meals at the same table in the dining room. We remember the most delicious meals that we were served...breakfast, lunch and dinner! The Inn personnel were very attentive and made our honeymoon a truly lovely memory.
We went to Whiteface Mountain, and the North Pole, and took a row boat ride on Mirror Lake. Lake Placid was such a delightful town, and I remember especially that almost all the homes and businesses had window flower boxes with red and white petunias and trailing green ivy, which made the town feel so welcoming to a young couple in their early 20's, on their honeymoon.
