1st time in Lake Placid

The first time I visited Lake Placid and the Mirror Lake inn was a great time for myself and for my closest friend , as we had just gone thru a very sad personal time. We arrived and it was a beautiful sunny warm day and just happened to drive to the MLI and luckily there was an vacancy and we decided we would treat ourselves right and go for the best (which it was) . We checked in and decided to walk down to the village and enjoy the stores and the little pubs and it was so warm we had just light jackets on and had the best time. We then returned to the Inn and we both had a wonderful massage and then enjoyed a light dinner which was perfect. We sat out on the balconey and just enjoyed the quiet and beauty of the area. We enjoyed the evening then decided to turn in for the night. The next morning we awoke and realized that both our beds were the most comfortable we had ever had at any hotel/inn. Even though we have gone places and spent quite a bit of $, the comforts are not always as they were at the MLI. AS I was saying we awoke the next day and found ourselves in the middle of a blizzard(what a change from the day before). But we were loving it. We went to the dining room and enjoyed a perfect breakfast. And then although we did not want to we had to check out and proceed home. Please keep in mind that unless you had gone through the personal traumas we had both rececntly endured, you would not have appreciated the time we spent there. The whole place was perfect, from the room, the staff, the spa, the food, everything. It was what we both needed desperatly. We are the closest of friends and enjoy vacationing together and have been back a couple of times and enjoyed evry moment of it, but our first visit was the best. We both talk about getting back there soon, but unfortunatly life isn't always that easy.. But it will always be one of our best memories. Sue Robbins
