| 25 Years of Romance By: Len L. Beaconsfield, QC |
| My wife and I had our first date on February 14, 1980, during the Lake Placid Winter Olympics. Two weeks later my wife asked me to marry her on February 29, 1980, (Saidie Hawkins Day, the only day a woman may ask a man to marry). Even though it was so soon during our relationship, we were soul mates so naturally I said, "Yes". We stayed at Mirror Lake Inn for the first time in the summer of 1980. It's been a strong love for each other and for Mirror Lake Inn ever since. In February 2005, I surprised my wife with a romantic spa get-away to Mirror Lake Inn to celebrate 25 years since our first date. We were greeted with a fruit basket and a bottle of chardonnay in our room and spectacular views of Mirror Lake and the mountains. It was 3 days of pampering for both of us at the inn's peaceful spa. We joined in the St. Valentine's feast put on by Mirror Lake Inn for all their guests. The romantic dinner was topped off by champagne and chocolate covered strawberries by the fire. My wife and I realize that most people spend their entire lives searching for the kind of love and respect that we have for each other, but one needs only to show their appreciation for their partner by sharing moments like this... and Mirror Lake Inn is a good place to start. |
